Formula 1 is picking up a padel racket. The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team has partnered with Padeltek, part of the Paddletek Group, to bring F1 and padel together. The first collection is a range of padel rackets and bags: three Padeltek rackets, including a Team racket and a Drivers range racket, and three Padeltek cover bags, all designed with Aston Martin Aramco in mind
The rackets go on sale through Padeltek's website on October 21. A day later, on October 22, an exclusive fan event takes place at the new Padel Society venue in Austin, Texas, timed with the United States Grand Prix
The team says it is the first F1 team to formally partner with a padel and pickleball company. Matt Chapman, the team's head of licensing and merchandise, says F1 can connect with wider sport and lifestyle spaces, while Ron Saslow of Thirty-5 Capital points to what padel and F1 have in common: both reward precision, speed and performance, and both are growing in the US.
