Padel Lands at the Airport: Munich Opens Three Courts Inside Its Terminal

Munich Airport has turned part of its terminal into a padel club. Three temporary courts have been running in the MAC-Forum since August 15 and will stay open until September 6, with around 5,000 visitors turning up over the opening weekend alone. The Munich City Championship and the MUC Airport Open both filled up within days, and demand for pay-to-play Book & Play slots has stayed high

The courts are open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with hourly rates of €25 before 4 p.m. and €30 after, plus rental rackets at €4 and three-ball tubes at €8. The three-week program includes a NextGen youth tournament, Company Cup matches for local businesses, the MUC Airport Open, the Munich City Championship, the Bavarian Padel Championships on September 5-6, and a €5,000 winner-take-all "One Point Challenge" on August 29. Munich Airport organized the pop-up with MMP Event, alongside MyPadel, the Bavarian Tennis Association and Wilson, framing it as a way to bring padel to travelers, airport staff and locals who might never set foot in a regular club
