About coach
Shawn Koopman is a Dutch padel coach from Amsterdam who still plays competitively. That combination shapes his lessons: he teaches what works in real matches, not just textbook technique.
As a player, Shawn holds an FIP world ranking (best position 1824) and has entered FIP Bronze events in the Netherlands and Bulgaria. On the Dutch circuit he won the INTERSELEKTIE Clubhouse P100 Open in 2024 with his regular partner Fabian Helsloot, and in April 2026 he won a P500 event in Tunisia. He is supported by Just Padel and Adamas Padel.
Shawn also makes padel tips videos, breaking down situations club players run into all the time: when to use the vibora and what to do when it gets blocked, how to handle big rebounds off the back glass, and how to beat opponents who are technically stronger. His coaching follows the same approach, with a focus on decision-making, shot selection and positioning.
