Spain has named eight athletes for the trip, including world No. 34 David Gala and former world No. 1s Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno. Hosts Italy will lean on Carolina Orsi and rising talent Giulia Dal Pozzo, while Portugal and France are seen as the strongest medal contenders

The entry list also includes Tunisia's Dora Chamli, the first African player to win a match on the Premier Padel tour, and Morocco's Reda El Amrani, a former world No. 160 on the ATP tennis rankings. The youngest athlete at the Games will be Monaco's Noa Mignoni, born in 2009
