ASICS's SonicSmash FF, released in December 2025, is a padel shoe built around speed and explosiveness rather than pure stability. The shoe combines FLYTEFOAM cushioning, a SPEEDTRUSS plate and X-GROOVE flex grooves with a segmented herringbone outsole fitted with dual rotation discs, designed to let players pivot and change direction quickly on court. The upper uses an engineered mesh construction that keeps the shoe light while still offering support during lateral movement.
At a men's size 45, the SonicSmash FF weighs 356 grams, and ASICS offers it across a wide range from men's 39 to 50.5 and women's 35.5 to 44.5. The version tested arrived in a petrol-blue and neon-green colorway. The design leans on the influence of Spanish pro Jorge "Coki" Nieto's Madrid-based playing style, and the shoe is aimed primarily at agile, mobile players who like to attack at the net, rather than heavier players who need maximum structural support.
