Empower Padel and the LTA Launch Pilot to Grow Women's Padel in Britain

Empower Padel and the LTA have launched a four-month pilot programme aimed at growing women's padel participation across Britain. The initiative works through "Padel Activators" — women who introduce their communities to the sport and support their progression — starting at three venues (Padel Stars Basildon, Padel4All Eastbourne and Pure Padel Lightwater), with a fourth site to follow. It builds on activity already running at four other clubs, and adds university outreach plus a Next Gen Padel Festival for players aged 16 to 24.

Over the four months, the programme is targeting 1,000 unique participants, 500 repeat participants and 200 regular monthly players. Founded in September 2024, Empower Padel has already introduced more than 1,250 women and girls to padel through over 150 events, and was named Best Community Initiative at the British Padel Awards.
