Kosovo's padel boom has reached higher education, with a new court inaugurated at the University of Pristina's Faculty of Physical Education and Sport as the 2026/2027 academic year got underway. The court gives students direct access to a sport that has exploded in popularity across the country over the past two years
The numbers behind that growth are striking: Kosovo counted around 1,000 padel players in 2024, a figure that has climbed to roughly 9,000 this year, backed by 16 clubs and 40 courts nationwide. The country hosted its first CUPRA FIP Tour event, FIP Bronze Prishtina, in 2026, and sent eight players to the Mediterranean Games in Taranto — with Pristina set to host the Games itself in 2030
