Ramiro Choya

Ramiro Choya, born in Madrid in 1967, emerges as a prominent figure in the padel universe, standing out for his remarkable achievements as both a player and a crucial coach.

As a player, Ramiro Choya reached the number 1 position in Spain in 1993, a year in which he also crowned himself as the Spanish Champion. His on-court prowess led him to represent Spain in international events, achieving the World Team Runner-Up in 1994 and 1996, as well as the title of European Team Champion in 1993, 1995, and 1997.

Following his successful playing career, Ramiro Choya directed his experience and knowledge towards teaching and coaching in padel. In 1993, he founded the teaching department of the Spanish padel Federation (FEP), playing a fundamental role in player development for almost 15 years and guiding over 3,000 students.

In his coaching role, Ramiro Choya has left a significant mark, working with some of the world’s best players, including Paquito Navarro, Pablo Lima, Juan Lebrón, Sanyo Gutiérrez, Matías Díaz, Adrián Allemandi, Alex Ruiz, Martín Piñeiro, Marta Ortega, Lucía Sainz, and Alba Galán, among others. His contribution to the development and success of these players has been crucial for the international growth of padel.

In 2024, Ramiro Choya, along with Paquito Navarro, co-founded the Paquito Navarro Academy.
